This article reports the commissioning ceremony for Photon Crystal Energy's 100 MW perovskite pilot line and first module roll-off. On August 20, 2024, the ceremony was held in Danzao Town, Nanhai District, Foshan, Guangdong Province, marking progress in the company's perovskite PV technology. Guangdong has a strong industrial base and the Greater Bay Area has dense urban clusters, creating strong demand for clean energy technologies to achieve carbon peaking and carbon neutrality. Perovskite solar cells have advantages such as widely available materials, short process flows, low costs, and high conversion efficiency. The pilot line is the first perovskite pilot line in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. It uses domestic equipment and automated continuous production to manufacture 1.2 m x 0.6 m perovskite PV modules. Once fully ramped, it can generate annual output value of more than RMB 100 million and support future expansion to GW-scale perovskite mass-production lines. Guests included Li Shengchun, Deputy Secretary-General of Foshan; Gu Yaohui, Party Secretary of Nanhai District; PV industry experts; and partners. Photon Crystal Energy signed strategic cooperation agreements with key customers and partners to promote innovation and commercialization of perovskite PV products. The company also announced an A+ financing round of more than RMB 100 million, led by SummitView Capital, with participation from Yinrun Capital and additional investments from existing investors Qiming Venture Partners and Dingxiang Capital.

On the morning of August 20, 2024, Photon Crystal Energy held a grand ceremony in Danzao Town, Nanhai District, Foshan, Guangdong Province, to commission its 100 MW perovskite pilot line and celebrate the roll-off of its first module. Guangdong Province has a strong industrial foundation, and the Greater Bay Area has dense urban clusters. To achieve the goals of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, it is necessary to vigorously develop clean energy technologies such as commercial and industrial distributed PV, building-integrated photovoltaics, and solar-powered hydrogen production. As a next-generation PV technology, perovskite solar cells offer advantages such as widely available materials, short process flows, low costs, and high conversion efficiency. They have significant potential to replace traditional crystalline silicon solar cells and are especially well suited for Guangdong Province and Foshan to cultivate a local independent PV industry and achieve further breakthroughs in the clean energy sector.

Photon Crystal Energy was incubated by Xianhu Laboratory in Foshan. The 100 MW perovskite pilot line completed this time is the first perovskite pilot line in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. It uses fully domestic equipment, automated continuous production, and industry-leading performance indicators. The pilot line uses a proprietary ink formula and fully printed technology to produce 1.2 m x 0.6 m perovskite PV modules with high efficiency and low cost. Once fully ramped, it can achieve annual output value of more than RMB 100 million. The commissioning of the pilot line marks a new stage for Photon Crystal Energy in the industrial-scale production and commercialization of perovskite modules, providing solid support for future GW-scale perovskite mass-production expansion.
